Skin Care for Teens Treatments"Why am I getting pimples?" We get that question a lot. The truth is acne comes with puberty. For girls puberty usually starts around age 7, but everyone is different. One thing that doesn't differ, however? The need to introduce proper skin care for teens.
Ottilie & Lulu offers two treatment products for tween faces:
- Spot Blemish Treatment
Everyday Facial Moisturizer & Sunscreen SPF 20
We can give you more information about how pimples form and the different types of pimples, but for now, let's talk about what you should do for your face when you get a pimple.
Keep it Clean
The most important factor when dealing with skin care for teens is keeping your face clean. Remove the dead skin cells that can clog your pores. We've talked about that in our cleansing section. Your skin is producing more oil (sebum) to lubricate your skin. Sometimes your pores get clogged with too much sebum and too many dead skin cells. That's how you get pimples.
First: do not poke or squeeze any bumps on your face. It will be very tempting, but don't. Squeezing and poking can leave long-lasting scars. It is much better to treat a pimple for a few days than have a scar for life.
Next, use a spot blemish treatment just on the spot or spots. Don't use blemish treatments all over your face. You don't need to. Instead of harsh ingredients like salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide, treat a blemish naturally.
Our powerful blend of ingredients--While Willow Bark, Peppermint Leaf, and Tea Tree--naturally calms skin and gives you relief from the breakouts. Tea Tree and Peppermint help to reduce redness. Your skin will tingle when you apply our spot blemish treatment so you know it is starting to work.
Keep Skin Balanced
One of the best ways to keep your skin in balance is to use a sunscreen. Not just any sunscreen, but a sunscreen with a mineral base such as zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. These minerals block the sun and help to keep skin calm. Calm skin doesn't produce as much sebum and your skin will be less oily.
So be good to your face and follow a good skin care for teens treatment. Keep it clean and oil free, treat it gently (never pick or squeeze), and use a sunscreen to keep your skin beautiful and balanced.
